Rachel’s interest in mental and behavioral healthcare stems from personal experiencesRachel had a relative who suffered from a TBI and developmental issues. As a teenager, a friend of hers committed suicide and another friend was murdered by her father in a domestic violence incident. Through these experiences, she realized that access to mental health care can be extremely difficult to find and due to this wanted to become a clinician to helpShe believes that if more people felt heard and understood then there would be less violence and suicide, and overall, more life satisfaction.

Rachel enjoys writing, is one of five children, and has been a vegetarian since she was 11 years old.
