Lance Crawford, LPC
Lance Crawford is a licensed professional counselor offering services to adolescents and adults in Virginia. He has a variety of clinical interests; however, he specializes in addiction, relationship issues, substance abuse, peer relationships and depression. In his practice, his philosophy is rooted in attachment theory, which he believes is powerful in building secure connections and bonds with others and in gaining a deeper understanding of self and internal security.
Lance's interest in mental and behavioral healthcare began when he became aware of his own personal mental health struggles and recognized how it was affecting his relationships in his adult life. His goal is to help people who are struggling with mental health issues become more aware of their life purpose and help them live more meaningful lives.
Lance enjoys watching history documentaries, swimming and his favorite travel experience, thus far, was traveling to Tokyo during New Years.
“Try not to confuse attachment with love. Attachment is about fear and dependency and has more to do with love of self than love of another. Love without attachment is the purest love because it isn’t about what others can give you because you’re empty. It is about what you can give others because you’re already full.” - Yasmin Mogahed
