Martha Frame, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker offering services to children, adolescent and adult residents in New York and North Carolina. She has a vast array of clinical interests; however, her specializations are anxiety and mood disorders, spiritual and faith based counseling, school refusal, grief counseling, child and adolescent counseling and DBT. In her practice, Martha believes that our earliest life experiences and the course of our development shape our sense of self and others. When there has been damage in these life experiences and relationships, it can affect our perspective of self, our response to others and the course of our lives. She believes and practices that the construct of the professional therapeutic relationship is designed to provide the opportunity for an individual to repair and resolve these central experiences and to experience healing in the self.

As a child, Martha grew up in family that valued helping others. Her home was often a refuge for people in crisis and she was able to observe her mother counsel and guide these individuals, which inspired her to pursue this work. Her mother later became a marriage and family therapist and was a mentor for her.

In her free time, Martha enjoys cooking and has catered and cooked in restaurants in the past. She is also a writer and studied creative writing as an undergraduate. In 1970, she made a transatlantic voyage on a Swedish ocean liner and lived in Holland for three years.
